Beyond symptoms

In today’s world, we are constantly inundated with information about mental health—diagnoses, therapies, and treatments. The illness-based medical model often emphasizes diagnosis and symptom management, but this approach can oversimplify the complexity of our experiences.

At the core of it all, we are more than our symptoms and more than any diagnosis. No two people with the same diagnosis or symptoms are alike.

My goal is not to treat symptoms, but to help you understand how and why your child’s or your own mind and body have learned to cope in particular ways so that you can make the changes you are looking to see.

My therapeutic approach is integrative, which means that I have broad training in multiple interventions and therapeutic modalities. While therapy will look straightforward and conversational, I am integrating a variety of strategies and sharing them so they are as practical as possible.
